Portfolio
Create portfolio pages and projects with categories and Isotope filtering.
Portfolio and Team Members post types are registered by the Alona Core plugin. If the Portfolio menu is missing or filtering isn't working, the plugin is likely inactive - see FAQ → Portfolio filtering.
Creating Portfolio Page
Go to Pages > Add New, write the page title and from the sidebar Template option select one of the four Portfolio Types:
- Grid
- Projects
- Horizontal
- Vertical
After selecting it an option to exclude some of the categories will appear. You can select the categories that you don't want to appear in the current Portfolio page.
When you are ready, hit the Publish button.
Creating Portfolio Item
Go to Portfolio menu in the sidebar and select Add New, write the item title.
From the right you can add the Categories of the Item by clicking + Add New Category.
Add the description for your portfolio project in the content box.
You can find all the project options below it:
- Project Thumbnail - Upload and select the project thumbnail. This is the image that appears in the Portfolio page.
Make sure you've selected a thumbnail or your image won't appear in the Portfolio page.
If uploaded images look blurry or wrongly cropped, they're likely below the 480px grid multiplier - or thumbnails haven't been regenerated since activating the theme. See FAQ → Image quality and the list of registered image sizes.
- Project Page Type - Select how the single page will display the item - as lightbox images or slider.
- Client Name - Enter the client name.
- Date - The date of the project.
Project Page Type - Slider
If you've selected the Project Type to be Slider, the last option will be Project.
By clicking Add Item you can add image or video to this project.
The theme supports YouTube and Vimeo upload. Make sure that the link starts with http:// (for example http://youtube.com/examplevideo) or you may have some redirection problems.
Project Page Type - Image Stack
If you've selected the Project Type to be Image Stack, the last option will be Images.
By clicking Add Item you can add image to the project.
The theme will do all the resizing, please read this to understand how it works!
The base size for width and height is 480px. When an image is uploaded the theme will resize that part of the image to the closest occurrence of 480px multiplier. For example:
- uploaded img size: 480x480 > will remain the same
- uploaded img size: 480x960 > will remain the same
- uploaded img size: 600x550 > will become 480x480
- uploaded img size: 820x480 > will become 480x480
- uploaded img size: 1300x1100 > will become 960x960
- and so on..
When you are ready, hit the Publish button.
