Content Setup
Configure the homepage, menu, portfolio, blog, and contact form.
Setting Up The Homepage
To set up a home page with the Blocks from the demo, you'll first have to create a normal Page ( Pages > Add New ) with your content and after that do the following steps:
Go to Settings > Reading Change the Front Page to the Page that you've already created.
If you have not used the 1 Click install that theme comes with and want to set up the homepage like the demo, do the following steps.
- Select Template > Page Blocks from the dropdown at the right.

- Change the settings from the fields that appear and add blocks using the Add Block button at the bottom. You can select the type of block and then fill it with the content that you want.
Block Size changes the size of the block. Here is a overview of what each size means.

Setting Up the Menu
To customize the navigation menu go to Appearance > Menus and customize it as you'll normally do on a Wordpress site.
And don't forget to check the Theme Location at the bottom to be Sidebar Menu after creating your menu.

If you want to add additional pages to the menu like Portfolio Projects or Categories click on Screen Options in the upper left corner of the page and check the types that you want to appear as selectables for the menu navigation.

When you are done, click Save Menu.
The Portfolio menu only appears when the bundled Subsolar Designs Extras plugin is active - that plugin registers the portfolio post type. If you don't see Portfolio in the sidebar, activate it from the TGM notice and flush permalinks at Settings → Permalinks → Save Changes. See Portfolio menu missing.
Creating a Portfolio Page
Go to Pages > Add New, write the page title and from the sidebar Template option select one of the available Portfolio Types:
- Grid
- Gallery
- Horizontal
After selecting it an option to exclude some of the categories will appear. You can select the categories that you don't want to show in the current Portfolio page.
Aspect Ratio
The theme can automatically resize the thumbnails to the needed landscape and portrait aspect ratios.
There is also an additional option available - Auto (Crop and Align Thumbnails) - this will make all portrait thumbnails to have height equal to two landscape ones.
When you are ready, hit the Publish button.
Inez generates its own image sizes (for example inez_landscape_medium 1000×600, inez_portrait 400×550, inez_large_soft 1300×1300). If thumbnails look stretched or soft, upload sources at least as large as the target size and regenerate thumbnails so the custom crops exist for every image. Details and full size list.
